The Food Security Accelerator ("FSA") is a flagship programme of the Africa Adaptation Initiative, co-implemented by SSA.
The FSA is designed as a pan-African investment platform mobilizing public and private finance for resilient agri-food value-chains.
FSA works with local MSMEs and local capital providers to strengthen private sector participation in agri-food value-chain transformation. The FSA combines technical and peer support for agri-food enterprise development – work being led by SSA – with deployment of novel investment models and partnerships to expand opportunities for accessing capital.
In addition to strengthening food security and scaling resilient agricultural practices across Africa, the FSA seeks to tap opportunities to generate growth and employment through improving value-addition across African food systems.
