Chad – Solar & Community-Powered Water Security

In collaboration with the Climate Technology Center and Network (CTCN), SSA implemented a project in Chad to deploy solar-powered pumping systems to rehabilitate traditional wells for highly climate-exposed communities in the Lake Chad Basin.

This project is restoring access to safe water for 50,000+ people. Ensuring participatory governance of the solution was a key dimension of project design, helping to secure sustainable deployment of the technology and support locally-driven management of water resources.
